Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned quarry with outcrops of upper parts of the Luhačovice Member of the Zlín Formation of the Rača Unit of the Magura flysch (Middle Eocene). Sediments consist of turbidite rhythms with predominating medium-grained quartzose sandstones. Stratigraphically and sedimentologically interesting locality.
Regional geologic unit: Carpathian - Flysch belt - Magurian group of nappes
